Biography

Dr. Gabriel Renaud is a professor of bioinformatics, recognized for his major contributions to computational methods for modern and ancient genomes. With a PhD in computer science applied to fossil DNA, he has devoted his career to developing innovative methods for analyzing human, animal, and environmental DNA, particularly when it is severely degraded. His research has led to significant advances in fields such as ancient DNA, metagenomics, and pangenomes, shedding light on human evolution, past biodiversity, and microbial dynamics over time.
